Professional Experience and Interests

Elizabeth is a current undergraduate student concentrating in Global Health and Urban Sustainability. She is hoping to learn and understand how climate change impacts health and well-being in a global context, and how sustainable initiatives can help alleviate and prevent these effects. This interest has so far taken Elizabeth to Mexico to shadow doctors and learn about the Mexican healthcare system. In the future, she hopes to earn an MPH in Global Environmental Health to one day go on to help implement sustainable programs that work towards better environmental health.

Gabriella received her BA from Concordia University Chicago (CUC).  While at CUC, she was a member of the women’s soccer team, competing all four years.  She became a Certified Nursing Assistant during her junior year allowing her to work closely with the elderly population gaining valuable professional experience.  Her interests in health care and global health took her abroad to Italy where she earned a position as a fellow, enabling her to observe first hand the healthcare system of a different country.  Currently, she works as an anesthesia technician at Northwestern Medical Hospital.  Additionally, she is working toward receiving her Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Northern Illinois University.  After completing her current degree, she hopes to pursue a career in environmental health promoting sustainability and actions to combat climate change.  Gabriella enjoys traveling, hiking, exercising (especially soccer) and spending time with family and friends.

Professional Experience and Interests

Katrina got her BA from the University of Washington in Health Studies. During her time there she worked in the University of Washington Emergency Preparedness Office and presented her research in smallpox and HIV at the 2019 Global Engagement Conference at UW Tacoma. She finished her MPH in 2022 at USC's Keck School of Medicine. She has a special environmental health interest in infectious and zoonotic diseases, disparities in global health and international affairs. In her time at USC she earned numerous certificates in global collaboration training, malaria control, humanitarian aid, research ethics and Incident Command System. She has previous professional experience as a lab assistant, photographer, and videographer. In her free time she enjoys horse riding, traveling and photography.

During her graduate program, Samantha's professional experience included working on state-wide tobacco control policy as a member of the California Youth Advocacy Network and worked with the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services to increase the accessibility of medications for addiction treatment in community health centers throughout LA County. After completing her MPH, she hopes to pursue a career in global health and management, helping implement innovative programs to promote sustainable development. In her free time, Samantha enjoys music, practicing calligraphy, and playing golf.
